Who is she anyway?
Elusive has been my identity as a writer.
I’ve always been “a writer”, per my papers and essays in school. Pre-college journalism camp turned me off to the calling I thought I’d felt. Instead I pursued an alternate major, and simply used my love of writing in classwork and scholarly responsibilities, but with no pursuit of writing itself.
I’ve always known someday I would birth books, perhaps even start a blog. For years it pained me that I haven’t done more with my writing as an art form. Where are all those school papers now? Lost on hard drives no longer accessible. My command of language so much stronger in my youth, before technology and fast-text culture mutilated my English.
A few years ago I decided the time had finally come to begin my blog, and I purchased the domain in 2019. Neither the writing nor the fear of exposure prevented me from starting: it was the darn logistics of creating a website. I found Wordpress incredibly complicated to use, to the point that I simply did not.
Well, after beginning an Instagram and YouTube channel for my poetry in the fall of 2022, I declared a corresponding website a must. Still unable to wrap my brain around Wordrpress, I launched this humble site with Squarespace as the simple hostess of my online diary in May 2023.
I’m still confused why or whether anyone should read the words of my public journal, but for whoever is indeed reading this, I thank you for taking the time.
My hope is to inspire whoever comes across these pages to pursue their own dreams and callings, to think more deeply about life, and to perhaps have a chuckle or two along the way.
